Who Can Become a Member?

The AERC is made up of a diverse group of engaged organizations and individuals working together to create a successful energy rating program to help consumers make informed decisions. Organizations or individuals with experience in the window attachments industry and/or energy efficiency are encouraged to join AERC to help drive its development and ensure its success. AERC values a diverse membership that balances industry and public interest participation to help consumers make more energy-efficient choices.

AERC has four membership categories:


Regular Membership is open to manufacturers of components and finished fenestration attachments products.

$1,000 if company sales of attachments are between $5,000,000 or below
$2,500 if company sales of attachments are between $5,000,001 and $10,000,000
$5,000 if company sales of attachments exceed $10,000,000


Associate Membership is open to organizations that are not eligible for Industry Membership. This includes but is not limited to associations, testing labs, utilities, and distributors/retailers of window attachments.

Dues: $2,000 per year

Public Interest

Public Interest Membership is open to organizations whose purpose is to serve and improve the public welfare, e.g. government and non-for-profit organizations.

Dues: $500 per year

Individual Membership

Individual Membership is available to any individual not eligible for Industry, Associate, or Public Interest Membership with experience in the window attachment industry, building energy efficiency, and/or energy ratings.

Dues: $500 per year

Membership Application

Membership fees will be collected on an annual basis. Yearly Membership dates are: 1/1/2017-12/31/2017. Sliding fee scales are not available at this time. Membership fees are non-refundable. Placement in membership categories is subject to AERC discretion.
    Public interest organizations as referenced by the AERC are entities whose purpose is to serve and improve the public welfare, e.g. government and not-for-profit organizations.

  • Submission of this form is an application for membership in the Attachments Energy Rating Council (AERC). The official representative will be an executive or individual authorized to commit the organization or individual to a course of action and who will attend the council meetings, and we agree not to solicit under the guise of council business.
